Elderly Men Dancing Tango

Walking through the streets of Buenos Aires I feel a rush of excitement filled with nervousness, anxiety and curiosity, with thoughts of having Buenos Aires become my new home for the next year. The city of Buenos Aires is filled with movement and growth. Elderly men dancing Tango on street corners, drum circles performances in the park, friends celebrating the beginning of spring by drinking mate (Argentine tea) on the crisp green grass. Ordinary people enjoying the simple things of life and toasting to the beauty of it all. As I am walking I am wondering how God is moving and what inspiring visions he has for this city and His children.
During these past two weeks my team and I have been getting to know our neighbors, our new community and the members of La Mision (the church we are working with). I love the way the church has not stopped dreaming or hoping for the people of this community, even if they and the rest of the world have stopped dreaming and hoping for themselves.
One thing I ask from you, is that you please pray for Bajo Flores the community in which I live. I ask that you pray for my neighbors and the deep hurt that is seen in their eyes. I ask that you pray for the children and that they may not be robbed of their childhood. I also ask that you pray for our team. Pray that we will reflex the image of Jesus and that we will allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us on this journey of serving His beloved Buenos Aires. Thanks.
